About Us
History
Our story starts way back, After the Genocide against the Tutsi in 1994
The history of the members of GAFO is that: we are the survivors of Genocide committed to the Tutsi and we we’ve been made early orphans, lost our parents, relatives, and neighbors. then lackly we’ve got chance to be taken in orphanage to be helped and supported by there, whereby we were supported by Rwandan Government through Jesuit fathers and Penitent sisters so we’ve got the charity and compassion up there which we want to give back to our brothers young orphans and INCIKE.
The historical background of GAFO started when we were in the orphanage and we’ve been grown there; eaten, slip, studied from primary to university for some of us, but after all some went in different families but later alone we had an idea to join our hand for creating this association for keep ourselves together and get develop each other for the same vision in the honor of Papa Charles Gakwavu whom we even gave the name of GAFO (Gakwavu foundation).
